Text: Market Research Consultant Location: High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire Salary : £25,000 - £40,000, dep on quality of skill set A vacancy has arisen in a market-established group of companies. There are two aspects to this exciting and developing role. The first and most important, is Market Research, my client is looking for an experienced market research executive (degree level or equivalent), with a strong track record in MR. As the key candidate, you will have a very high degree of ability with both quantitative and qualitative MR incorporating analysis, questionnaire design, as well as some other administrative duties such as collating and filing. You will be acting as the MR technical person and advisor in this group of companies providing advice and direction to people both more senior and more junior in the organisation. As such you will be a great communicator and will be both sufficiently flexible as well as comfortable, in communicating with people at all levels. The second aspect is non target driven business development. You will not be on a commission structure and will not be required to work to target. Your job standing is unlikely to be affected by lack of sales as you will be acting in the role of consultant rather than salesman. Although the percentage of your time spent performing business development has not been fixed, it is unlikely to be the bulk of your duties. As you will be working for a key corporate name in the field, your clients will be likely to be awaiting a call from you (being a consultant for a reputable name) as you will be providing a service that is not held in house with any of the existing or new client base, but is needed in the industry. Again the key skill here is to be able to communicate at all levels to your client base as an authoritative expert in the field. For this reason, experienced MR professionals are preferred rather than “sales guys”. In both aspects you will be required to commence building your team within a few months of starting in this new and challenging role. The ideal candidate would be an experienced MR professional with a hunger for career progression. There is rapid career progression in this organisation and you will be able to substantially notice the progress after just 3 years in the company.
